In Latin Tuber Aestivum Vitt. Its dual name derives from the two main characteristics of this Truffle: the harvest period, from April to November, and the peridium – or the outer part – dotted with characteristic warts.

The Scorzone is similar to the Fine Black Truffle but is distinguished by a different, black-grey, and by the characteristic external warts. Its white pulp turns brown with maturation and is recognized by a hazelnut smellwhen it reaches final maturation.

This is why it is one of our most Intense Passions.
